AI Chat Saver is a browser extension that helps you save and export your AI chat conversations locally. Your privacy is our priority.

This extension stores YOUR chat conversations locally in YOUR browser. No conversation data is transmitted elsewhere.

Data Collection

This extension stores your AI conversation data locally in your browser only using Chrome's built-in storage API.

What We Collect

Chat messages you explicitly choose to save (nothing is collected automatically)
Your extension preferences (theme, license status)

What We Do NOT Collect

Personal identification information
Browsing history
Cookies or tracking data
Analytics or telemetry
API keys or authentication tokens

User-Initiated Actions Only

You control when data is saved - conversations are only extracted when you click "Save Current Chat"
You are exporting your own data - this tool helps you backup conversations from your own authenticated account
No background collection - the extension never automatically collects or monitors your conversations

Data Transmission

No conversation data is ever transmitted to external servers. All saved conversations remain entirely on your device.

The only external network requests made by this extension are:

License verification via Gumroad API (only when you manually enter a license key) - this transmits only the license key, not your conversation data

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using chrome.storage.local. You maintain full control over your data and can delete it at any time.

Data Retention

Data is retained locally indefinitely until:

You manually delete it through the extension
Your browser's local storage is cleared
You uninstall the extension (browser automatically clears associated data)

We have no server-side storage, so there is no retention deadline on our end.

Your Rights

Access: View all your saved data within the extension
Export: Download your data as JSON or Markdown files
Delete: Remove any or all saved conversations at any time
Control: You decide what to save - nothing is collected automatically

How to Exercise Your Rights

Access your data: Open the extension and view all saved conversations
Export your data: Use the download button to export as JSON or Markdown
Delete your data: Click the delete button for individual conversations or "Clear All Data"
Withdraw consent: Uninstall the extension (browser will clear all associated data)

No approval or request needed—changes take effect immediately.

Data Security

All data remains in your browser's local storage
No external databases or cloud storage

Your license key is verified once against Gumroad's servers (only the key is transmitted, never your chat data). After verification, the key is stored locally in your extension.
